Welcome to AMSOM
At the Aidan Mayes School of Music students learn not only technical and theory based skills, they learn to love and have fun with the creative sides of their beings, embracing a positive and educational outlet. Our musical mission acronym is N-I-C-E:
To NURTURE each student’s unique goals, natural abilities & musical tastes
To INSPIRE each student by providing a professional performing artist faculty as role models
To CARE about creating a safe, positive & fun experience for each student’s musical journey
To ENCOURAGE learning at one’s own pace, while celebrating passion, practice, enthusiasm & skill
AMSOM classes range from guitar, ukulele and piano lessons, to voice, songwriting and musical theatre.
Enrolling in AMSOM means being taught by a professional, working songwriter, performer and musician and music coach - Aidan Mayes.
Aidan is classically trained, accredited at the highest level of the Royal Conservatory of Music, has over 20 years of experience as a professional musician, and over 13 years of teaching experience. As a big kid herself, Aidan makes learning music fun and compelling. The AMSOM studio is a very safe and supportive place for students of all levels to explore their creativity.

2019 Year End Production
MOONBOUND
Every year, The Aidan Mayes School Of Music launches a year end production which features the many talents and contributions of students! In 2019, AMSOM produced an original showcase titled Moonbound! An inspiring tale of never giving up on your dreams and reaching for the Moon and beyond. With unforgettable songs that told the story of imagination, perseverance, vulnerability, adventure and more. Each chapter represented a different colour and emotion of the rainbow, wild and crazy hair symbolized that when we do what we love, our hair stands on end, all resulting in a heart warming technicolor performance for every student to take immense pride in and for all ages to enjoy. By far, our most exciting production to date!
